Toastmasters functions through a network of clubs that provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills and foster self-confidence and personal growth.

Steve belongs to the Transtoasters club of Salem, Oregon, which meets at the Oregon Department of Transportation.
